The Life of Isa Bahadori

Isa bahadori was born in 1905 in a village of Markazi province in Iran. His artistic life started from when he went to the art school of Kamal-ol-molk in Tehran and learn fundamentals of arts from most professional teashers at that times in Iran

Bahadori's great tend for Isfahan city, as a city of traditional persian arts, caused he move there as a researching travel to learn about tiles and paintings on historical buildings. Then he get implyeed in this city ni 1936 as administrator of fine art school in Isfahan. He worked and tought many talented art students there (such as Mahmoud farshchian and Rostam Shirazi) in different fields of traditional Persian arts like miniaature, carpet designing and traditional designs.

Isa Bahadori stayed in Isfahan for 34 years and then turned back to his village to do freelance carpet designing. but the local weavers of Sarough (another important regions of Persian rugs that is located in Markazi province in Iran) hadn't needed skills of weaving his delicate designs so he started to design simpler rug patterns. At this time he designed some special patterns that make sarouk rugs unique between Americans customers. Then he leave Iran to leave with her daughter in France, in 1986 he died in Paris.

Humanity Carpet

Feyzollah Haghighi carpet workshops weave "this fabulous tableau rug." He was an excellent producer of Tableau rugs with high accuracy due to high knot density. Feyzollah Haghighi had a professional dyeing department to achieve a wide range of colors with natural dyes for his extraordinary tableau rug. This rug represents a unique view of Jame Mosque in Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan, with lively colors and a border of eslimi motifs.

Isa Bahadori started his artistic activities as a painter, learning fundamentals of painting in the best art school at his times. He was one of the modern painters in Iran who were adroit in realistic painting and also abstract miniature paintings of Iran. This is one of his famous realistic paints from the traditional central mosque in Isfahan called "Jameh mosque" in Naqsh-e jahan square. Like this painting, Bahadori trues to show beautiful Persian cultures and architectures by the common principles of European paintings.

Starfish Carpet

This is one of Isaha Bahadori's popular carpet designs that has crossed the common boundaries of Persian rugs motifs and subjects. Bahadori was genius in combining traditional motifs of Persian rugs with unconventional subjects. In this rug pattern he obeys basic structures too (as you see the rug has mihrabi or prayer design structure) but there is a starfish at the center instead of a medallion and the traditional flowers motifs have turned to sea animal forms. You can see three jelly fish at the top of the starfish and a caviar fish (as a symbol of Iran) at the bottom.

Tiles of Isabn-e-Maryam Hospital

To beautify the named hospital, the municipality of the Isfahan city in Iran asked Bahadori for an appropriate artwork. As he was a researcher of Persian traditional arts, skilled in traditional designs and tiles, he created a wonderful tile works that includes both Persian and Christian symbols. Bahadori tried to look for Christian symbols because this hospital had established for the Christian of Isfahan, so he used the common cross form with Persian motifs as tiles on the wall of the hospital.
