Pink Persian carpets and rugs are unique (even rare), used in few regions such as Sultanabad where carpets have lighter colors, but it is used especially in modern Persian rugs and contemporary designs of Persian carpets. one of the most popular patterns in Persian arts and carpets influenced from a specific rose that has important value for Persian. This flower has a wonderful smell and attractive pink color, called "Damask rose", were grown in most regions of Iran. later Persian dyers found that they can get beautiful pink color shades from some natural sources like onion skin, madder root, carmine dye, red soil of Hormuz island (Gelack) and even some spices they were used in their food like sumac. so weavers gradually began to use fibers dyed by different shades of pink (like peach and salmon pink) not only for rose patterns but also for weaving the main field of the designs.
