About Mahoor Abbasi

Mahoor Abbasi is an Iranian carpet and rug designer. She grew up in Iran, one of the world's leading producers of carpets, and followed her interest in studying carpet design at Shiraz University of Art. Iranian carpets, according to Mahoor, have a rich cultural legacy. She is motivated to create new narratives and designs influenced by traditional Persian patterns to keep Persian carpets alive in the modern world. For more than five years, she has been creating machine-made and handmade carpets and partnering with certain producers in Iran and overseas.
