Handmade Carpet Producers of Traditional Persian Kerman Rug Style for More Than a Century
Baghaei Carpet workshops were established by "Mohammad Reza Baghaei Ravari" in 1911 in Ravar and Kouhbanan cities in the Kerman provinces of Iran. When Mohammad Reza Baghaqi passed away, Mr. Alijan continued on his way and saved the Baghaei workshops till now. His sons and his grandchildren have had notable roles in the revival of this unique and precious art of traditional Kerman rugs. Now, the family has established many workshops in Zarand and Ravar cities in weavers' houses (most weavers include women) to produce original and distinguished Kerman rugs. All local Carpet Workshops of Baghaei Carpet have a specific expert who controls and supervises weaving processes to prevent any problems during weaving. Baghaei Carpet has a significant role in saving and maintaining the traditional Kerman rug style for years by not only producing high-quality Ravar and Kerman rugs with fine materials and naturally dyed fibers but also distributing and exporting their productions to the world. Also, Persian rugs and carpets from other styles such as Qom rug or Tabriz Rug are produced by Baghaei Carpet.
