Qom Erami Rugs

Erami Rugs' history started in 1915, when its founder, Mahmoud Erami, was born in Kashan. He rose through the ranks of the Persian carpet industry to become a legend. When he was ten years old, he left his hometown for Qom city, which later became famous as one of the best places for Persian carpet production for Erami rugs and carpets. He showed skill and passion as an apprentice, despite his tender age. He was nurtured for several years by well-known experts of the period, who taught him everything about carpet designing, weaving, and production. He was regarded as a master in his specialty by the age of 20, and he took on apprentices, instructing the next generation in the city's carpet business. Reza Erami, his oldest son, joined his father after graduating in literature, having learned the procedures of carpet manufacture from his father and the soft skills of carpet weaving from his mother. Reza brought about significant improvements in the style of the family's rugs. One of his most notable creations is the Shah Abbasi floral design, complemented by a distinct color palette that emphasizes innovation and a break from the past.
He has been weaving for over 60 years and has generously shared his knowledge and experience with the current generation of Iranian carpet weavers. Later, his son, Amirhossein Erami, has been immersed in the colorful world of carpets since 1988, expressing his love and excitement for his family's profession and devoting time and attention to promoting Qum's silk carpets as one of Iran's best luxury handicrafts till now. This adventure has ended here with Erami rugs, which combine the qualities of beauty, legacy, and tradition.
