Zollanvari Carpets

Zollanvari is a leading maker of tribal, classical, and modern carpets in Iran. This brand has high enthusiasm for the creative weavings of the nomadic peoples of southern Persia, which represents nearly all of our collections. The Zollanvari history began in 1947 when "Gholam Reza Zollonvari" joined his father's carpet company; an inheritance passed down from his grandfather. Initially, he concentrated on traditional South Persian nomad crafts. Gabbeh rugs are colorful carpets with high piles. They were and are a vivid reflection of the art and soul of the southern Persian nomads' traditional weaving. Gabbeh rugs have recently become popular and in-demand over history. Gholam Reza Zollanvari began weaving new Gabbeh rugs with contemporary designs with the Qashqai and Luri Nomads. After that, Reza Zollanvari launched the business in Zurich in 1985 to have direct access to his father. In 1989, the company grew by weaving massive, room-sized Gabbeh rugs with handspun and natural-dyed fibres. As an outcome of Zollanvarl's ongoing evolution of pattern, color, and symbolism, the art of carpet creation has always symbolized the expression of a culture and a way of life. What sets this brand unique is that the weavers are actively encouraged to let their individual artistic senses show through in the patterns.
