The History of Tabriz Carpet Bazaar, Mozaffarieh Timcheh:

The historical and fascinating oriental bazaar of Mozaffarieh was built in 1927 by an Iranian merchant named Haj Sheykh Jafar Qazvini at the end of the Qajar dynasty of Iran. It is recorded that when the construction of this bazaar was finished, The Persian prince Mozaffar ad-Din Mirza visited there and admired there so much that Sheykh Qazvini gifted the whole bazaar to him. So this bazaar was named Mozaffarieh Timcheh (Timcheh is a small branch of a grand bazaar in Persian architecture). The grand bazaar of Tabriz and all of its branches became one of the vital commercial centers of the Silk Road, located in the center of Tabriz city. This bazaar is a place for trading many productions and providing many services for centuries that even Marco Polo glorified.
