Tabriz Bazaar is one of the most important and oldest historical roofed markets globally and the biggest bazaar covered with bricks in Iran that is on the List of World Heritage Sites, of UNESCO. The market was located on the Silk Road and had an essential role in trade markets for centuries, with diverse businesses inside it. Still, the bazaar has maintained its magnitude by its business cycle on each side with about 5500 stores, 40 different businesses, 35 branches, 30 mosques, and 12 schools. Mozaffarieh Timcheh is one of the many branches of the main Tabriz bazaar, explicitly belonging to the carpets and rugs industry. This market has two floors with dome-shaped roofs and colorful windows, and each floor has 26 stores filled with sumptuous and magnificent carpets that make this market also a tourist attraction. Most handmade carpet stores are on the first floor of Mozaffarieh Timcheh, while many carpet repairers and designers, dyeing, and fibers stores are placed on the second floor. You can find any Tabriz rugs and carpets there, but all are handmade, sourced from domestic people's homes or professional workshops in towns. The historical and fascinating oriental bazaar of Mozaffarieh was built in 1927 by an Iranian merchant named Haj Sheykh Jafar Qazvini at the end of the Qajar dynasty of Iran. It is recorded that when the construction of this bazaar was finished, The Persian prince Mozaffar ad-Din Mirza visited there and admired there so much that Sheykh Qazvini gifted the whole bazaar to him. So this bazaar was named Mozaffarieh Timcheh (Timcheh is a small branch of a grand bazaar in Persian architecture). The grand bazaar of Tabriz and all of its branches became one of the vital commercial centers of the Silk Road, located in the center of Tabriz city. This bazaar is a place for trading many productions and providing many services for centuries that even Marco Polo glorified.
