Before describing the complete design, one of the main elements in Persian architecture should be mentioned, as the whole structure of this handmade rug design has been influenced by this element. Most buildings, especially mosques, schools, and grand bazaars, have unique circular roofs, called "Gonbads," or domes, mostly 30–35 meters above the ground. These kinds of roofs have two inner and outer parts. Semicircular, semi-elliptical, pointed, or saucer-shaped inner shells are prevalent. From the base, every 25 to 30 degrees, the outer surface of a Persian dome thins out. The form of the outer shell determines whether it is semicircular, semi-elliptical, pointy, conical, or swollen.
As the Persian dome symbolizes the ancient culture of Iran, its form is used in many other Persian arts, such as carpet design. This high-quality handmade carpet is woven in Tabriz, where you will see many architectural structures in its rug style. Geometric shapes are filled with Islimi motifs or arabesque leaves in traditional color combinations.
This is a delicate handmade carpet in the Persian traditional town carpet style of the Tabriz region, which means it is woven in the most professional carpet workshops in Iran. The rug has high-grade cotton warps and wefts and a combined silk and fine wool texture. This weaving technique is mainly used when weavers or producers want some motifs and the pattern has a prominent view, so those patterns are woven by silk and the rest by wool. This rug has almost a high density of about 50 knots per square inch.
